Your outdoor room
Concrete Patios for Palos Hills Backyards
Space for the table, the grill and the whole crowd, on a slab that sends rain toward the lawn.
Think of It as an Outdoor Room
The best patios feel like an extra room: big enough for dinner, a grill and a couple of lounge chairs, and easy to step onto from the back door. So before any concrete talk, let's figure out your weekends out there. Who is coming over? Where does the grill go? Do you want a spot that catches the afternoon shade? Then we mark the outline on the lawn so you can walk around in it and adjust. From there, the build is careful and simple. We lift the sod, haul in crushed stone, run the compactor over it and set boards so the patio tips ever so slightly toward the lawn. That slope keeps water off the foundation. Plan on roughly 4 inches of concrete, plus mesh or bar if the ground or the shape needs it, and finished however you like: brushed, smooth or stamped and colored. Joints are laid out in a pattern that suits the shape. Many Palos Hills backyards back up to trees or open land, which makes a well-placed patio an especially nice place to sit.
