A sharper first impression

Palos Hills Concrete Company for Drives and Walks That Dress Up the House

New driveways, stamped patios, front walks and foundations for homes in Palos Hills, Hickory Hills, Worth and Palos Park, laid out so the house looks better from the street and built thick enough to stay that way.

Here is what you can expect

  • Lines that look intentional

Straight edges, even joints and clean curves where the walk meets the drive.

  • Built for its load

Thicker slabs and steel where vehicles roll, lighter where only feet go.

  • Cracks with a plan

Joints spaced so any shrinkage lands in a tidy seam, not across the middle.

  • Your lawn, put back

Old concrete trucked off, forms pulled and soil raked in along the new edges.

  • Homes and storefronts

The same crew pours a family's front walk and a shop's entrance.

Ways We Can Freshen Up Your Property

Think about what a visitor sees first: the driveway, the walk to the door, maybe a glimpse of the backyard. Every one of those can be poured to look better and last longer. Here is the full menu, so you can see what fits your plans before we chat.

How We Get From Idea to New Concrete

  1. Start with a conversation

Tell us what bugs you about the current concrete and what you picture instead. We will toss around a few ideas on shape, width and finish, and you will hang up with a sense of what makes sense for your house.

  2. We come out and lay it out

We measure, mark the new shape on the ground with paint or stakes and check how water moves across the yard. Seeing the outline in person is often when people decide to widen a walk or round a corner.

  3. A written price you can compare

You get the number in writing with removal, base, thickness, reinforcement, finish and joint layout spelled out. If you are weighing broom against stamped, you see both prices side by side.

  4. Pour day, then cleanup

Out goes the old slab, in goes compacted stone, forms and steel. The concrete is placed, finished and jointed, then protected while it cures. Boards come up, soil gets raked against the edges, and the yard is yours again.

Why Palos Hills Neighbors Choose Us

Good-looking concrete only stays good-looking if it is built right underneath. Here is how we make sure the improvement lasts.

  • The right thickness, every time

A front walk might be about 4 inches. A driveway that carries an SUV needs more, and a slab under a heavy truck more again. We match the depth to whatever will park or sit there, and add rebar or mesh where it does real work, so your new drive does not start sagging at the tire lines.

  • Front walks and storefronts alike

We pour for homeowners and for business owners and property managers. Working on commercial sites has made us careful planners, and that same care about access, timing and finish carries into every residential driveway and patio.

  • Joints that look planned

Concrete tightens up a touch as it dries, so a crack is coming somewhere. Control joints placed in a neat pattern give it a straight line to follow, so instead of a random crack across your new driveway you get crisp seams that look like part of the design.

  • Leaving the yard nicer than we found it

No pile of broken concrete by the garage and no ruts across the lawn. The old slab is hauled away, the forms come out, the edges get backfilled and the area is swept, so the first thing you notice is the new concrete, not the mess.

Pouring Around Palos Hills

Palos Hills is a leafy town along 103rd Street and Roberts Road, bordered by forest preserve land to the south and west, with a mix of brick ranches, split-levels, condos and newer custom homes. Many of those houses still have their original driveways and walks, and a fresh pour is one of the quickest ways to make the front of the house look current again. We work across Palos Hills and the towns around it, including Hickory Hills, Worth, Palos Park, Palos Heights, Chicago Ridge, Justice, Bridgeview, Burbank, Oak Lawn and Willow Springs. Clay soil and hard winters are the rule in all of them, so the stone base and thickness stay the same wherever we pour.

Older homes, fresh fronts

Swapping a tired drive and walk for new concrete is a big visual change without touching the house itself.

Wooded lots

Mature trees mean roots and shade. We plan the base and the cure around both so the slab stays flat and hard.

Good Questions We Get Asked

If you are wondering about any of these, you are in good company.

What goes into the cost of a new concrete driveway?

The big drivers are size, thickness, base depth and whether an old drive has to be torn out and hauled away. Steel, surface texture and truck access nudge it too. We measure first and then hand you a written price that breaks every one of those out, line by line.

Will a stamped patio be slick after rain?

It can be a bit slicker than a broom finish once sealed, but there is an easy fix. We pick patterns with real texture and add a fine anti-slip grit to the sealer on walkways and around patio seating, so it keeps its looks and gives your shoes some grip.

What is underneath new concrete?

Crushed stone, packed down hard on top of native soil. Its job is to give the slab even support and let water drain away instead of softening the ground. On clay soils like ours, that base is one of the biggest reasons a slab stays flat year after year.

When is the ideal season for a concrete pour?

Late spring through early fall is the sweet spot here, with mild temperatures and fewer freezing nights. Very hot days can be managed with early starts and careful curing. Booking a little ahead of the busy summer stretch helps you get the date you want.

Do you take away the old concrete?

Yes. Tear-out and disposal are built into every replacement and shown on the written price. The rubble leaves on our truck, not in a heap by your garage.

Can you pour when it is cold out?

Sometimes, with precautions. Concrete needs to stay above freezing while it gains early strength, so cold-weather pours call for insulated blankets and careful timing, and the ground itself cannot be frozen. If conditions are not right, we will tell you honestly and plan for a better window.

What foundation will my addition or garage need?

An addition usually needs footings below frost depth with poured walls, while many detached garages are built on a thickened-edge slab over compacted stone. Your drawings and the village's rules make the final call. We pour to the plans and coordinate details with your builder.

A Palos Hills Concrete Crew With an Eye for Looks

Concrete Contractor Palos Hills believes flatwork can be good-looking as well as tough. We think about how a driveway frames the garage, how a walk leads guests to the door and how a stamped patio pairs with your brick. Underneath, every pour gets the stone base, thickness and joints it needs to last.
